Our beautiful union began on Instagram through God’s divine connection. I posted a picture of myself in a sleek black dress and boots. Among the comments, one stood out: “Guy!! The black is cute on you, but those shoes went to Harvard!!” It was too funny and got me laughing.

That comment sparked our first conversation. As we continued chatting, he shared his world and I shared mine. We noticed how alike we were with coincidences that felt too extraordinary to ignore. Still, I hesitated. I’ve always been critical of people dating through social media and now here I was faced with the same situation. Ironically, this became a lesson for me. Despite my initial reservations, there was a magnetic pull to keep talking to him. I joked one day, saying, “Since you’ve decided to keep me as an Instagram friend, I’ll act as one, lol.”

Our conversations moved to WhatsApp, where we became even more comfortable with each other. What began as casual chats blossomed into a beautiful friendship. On a beautiful day at 10:58pm, he asked me to be his girlfriend even though we hadn’t yet met in person.

Eventually, we planned to meet. It was a culmination of everything we had built over time. Further down, I got engaged. He knelt down and asked me to be his wife. My heart overflowed with joy as I said “Yes.”
